More information

Quality

To meet contractually agreed customer requirements, and to plan, implement, and monitor all quality-related activities, bott has implemented a quality management system. The quality management system has been certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001 since 1995 and is regularly recertified. Our quality management system is actively practiced throughout the entire company. The QM documentation, consisting of workflows and the associated documents, is binding for all employees.

By applying the QM system, we ensure that our quality policy is implemented within the company, legal requirements are met, ISO 9001 requirements are integrated into our processes, and continuous improvement is promoted. We provide the necessary resources to ensure the effectiveness of the quality management system.

Certified to ISO 9001 are our UK subsidiary Bott Ltd., our Hungarian subsidiary Bott Hungária Kft., bott systems, as well as our German sites Plant 1, Plant 2, and our facility in Münster.

Sustainability

Sustainability is based on the interaction of the areas Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG). The interplay of these three aspects is essential for holistic sustainable business practices – including at bott. We are continuously working to improve our business activities step by step in these three areas.

Since 2012, bott has been certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14001:2015. ISO 14001 is a globally recognized standard for environmental management that helps companies achieve their environmental objectives, comply with legal requirements, and continuously improve their processes. The focus is on planning, implementation, monitoring, and ongoing development.

Transparency through sustainability

In the 2025 financial year, we began developing our first group-wide sustainability strategy. Based on a materiality analysis, four key areas of action were defined, forming the focus of our sustainable development: Green Site Development, Sustainable Product Design, Responsible Supply Chain, and Human-Centered Workplace.

Across all these areas, the systematic recording and reduction of emissions throughout all parts of the company is a central priority.

With our new “Sustainability and Responsibility 2025” overview, we would like to present our sustainability strategy for the first time and communicate our process of sustainable development at an early stage and in a transparent manner.

Key areas of action at a glance

Green Site Development

We consistently make our production and site development more efficient and resource-conserving. To achieve this, we optimize processes, increase energy efficiency, and continuously expand the use of renewable energy. At the same time, we systematically reduce waste and create transparency across our environmental performance indicators.

Sustainable Product Design

We integrate environmental requirements into our product development at an early stage and consider sustainability from the very beginning. Our focus is on durable solutions, high material and energy efficiency, and promoting circularity. In this way, we ensure that our products create long-term value – for both our customers and the environment.

Responsible Supply Chain

We rely on transparent, responsible supply chains and systematically assess ESG risks. Through clear standards, binding requirements, and close collaboration with our partners, we strengthen sustainable practices across the entire value chain and drive continuous improvement.

Human-Centered Workplace

We create a working environment built on appreciation, safety, and development. Equal opportunities, qualification, and the well-being of our employees are at the core of our approach. Through targeted programs, we foster skills, strengthen our corporate culture, and secure our long-term shared success.

Power for the future

Since 2023, the bott Customer Center in Münster has been supplied with electricity from its own photovoltaic system. We plan to increasingly rely on renewable energy in the future and to expand the installation of photovoltaic systems at our other plants and locations.

To quantify and continuously improve our initiatives, we participate in independent assessments and benchmarks. Our performance is regularly evaluated by IntegrityNext and EcoVadis. Please note that access to EcoVadis data requires a customer account, the cost of which must be covered by the requesting party. If you have such an account, you can request access to bott’s data.

Our benchmarks cover the following topics:

  • Anti-corruption and anti-bribery
  • Environmental protection and energy management
  • Human and labor rights, including living wages
  • Occupational safety and responsibility in the supply chain (LkSG)
  • Conflicts of interest and management & ownership responsibilities
  • Quality management and data protection in accordance with GDPR
  • Handling of conflict materials, REACH / RoHS
  • COVID-19 assessment
  • Diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • CO2-footprint
